Group-IB blocks over 43,000 links to Game of Thrones pirate copies

MOSCOW, May 21 (PRIME) -- Moscow-headquartered cybersecurity company Group-IB has successfully blocked over 43,000 illegal links to viewing the last season of fantasy drama series Game of Thrones, which was 3.5 times more than in the previous season, the company said on Tuesday in a statement.

The company’s experts had detected and blocked 43,711 links to the series on unauthorized resources since the launch of the last season of the popular show. More than 30,000 detected unique links were withdrawn from search results of Yandex.

Pirate copies of the final season appeared on 1,098 sites, including 94 created for the show.

Group-IB said that Game of Thrones has become the most popular among both users and pirates.
